We adopted Cheza as a puppy through RRUS, and immediately she became a member of our family. She happily accepted her spot in the pack, but definitely would let us know when she was feeling neglected. Her favorite thing to do was eat. When she wasn’t eating or sleeping in the sun, she loved tracking […]
By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill, Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still. Where the friends of man and woman do run, When their time on earth is over and done. For here, between this world and the next, Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest. On this golden land, they wait and they play, Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day. No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness, For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness. Their limbs are restored, their health renewed, Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without even a care, Until one day they start, and sniff at the air. All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back, Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack. For just at that instant, their eyes have met; Together again, both person and pet. So they run to each other, these friends from long past, The time of their parting is over at last. The sadness they felt while they were apart, Has turned into joy once more in each heart. They embrace with a love that will last forever, And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.
My heart is broken. Use the funds to help out another Ridgeback, Tam was a credit to her breed. Couldn’t walk more than twenty feet in the end, she had CHF and an infection….but boy did she scarf down that ham, swiss cheese, and smoked gouda I brought her, just before the injections. What a […]
We drove from NH to IN to adopt our “special guy” to give him his “furever” home with us. He had the sweetest temperment of any Ridgeback that has owned me in my 43 of Ridgebackin’. He got along with everyone, he never met a person or dog he didn’t like. Especially, if they had […]
It is with a heavy heart that Jim and I tell all of you that on Saturday March 19th our beloved Jafari went to the rainbow bridge. His spirit left his earthly form at 9:38 and I could feel it leave. Jafari came into rescue with the help of RTI and RRUS. He spent 8 […]
He was my warrior – protected me from all. The most recent story was when I was leaving for work, it was still dark out, there was somebody next to the house by my door. It startled me, and alerted my dogs. Leinie wedged the door open – away from my hands. I thought, from […]
Our gentle soul, left this world in peace. She was such a good girl. Nala, pure love, you will never be forgotten. Every tear shed is totally worth it for the love you gave us. Laurie Martin
