There are many areas that you can volunteer and you can do as little or as much as you like. Some of the areas that your help is needed are: Foster HomesRescued Ridgebacks are placed in a foster home for at least 4 weeks. During this time the dogs is evaluated so that we can assess the best forever home for them. A foster home helps acclimate the dog to family life and begins teaching basic manners. TransportersIf you would like to help transport dogs to and from vets, shelters, foster homes, and owners, please let us know. Home VisitsWe need people to evaluate dogs that are strays or owner surrenders before we will accept them into our system. In addition, we conduct home visits as part of our volunteer application process. FundraisingWe are always in need of help in fundraising. If you have experience as a fundraiser for nonprofit organizations, we can use your help. Grant WritingWe are looking for someone experienced in the grant writing area of fundraising. Currently, most of our funds come from private donations from caring individuals and our adoption fee donations. DonationsRRUS always has a need for supplies, including crates, X-pens, child/dog gates, leashes, collars, water bowls or buckets.
