RRUS is a tax exempt not-for-profit charity and your contributions are considered deductible by the IRS under code 501(c)(3). All your donations are very gratefully accepted on behalf of our needy Ridgebacks, who are looking for loving, forever homes.
RRUS is an all volunteer rescue organization. None of our officers, BODs or rescuers receive any pay, whatsoever.
It is the goal of our rescue program to keep all administrative costs to a bare-bones minimum. We consider every penny spent on administration as money taken away from the dogs.
Our contributions from you are spent on the actual rescuing of the dogs, such as shelter fees, if necessary. Veterinary costs are spent for spay/neuter, bringing shots and inoculations up-to-date, heartworm and tic- borne disease tests, if needed. Many dogs come to us in poor condition with wounds, or infected ears and eyes. Some are emaciated and need special diets. Seldom do the adoption fees cover our actual costs, so we know ahead of time, we will be operating in the red.
A portion of your donation is set aside to invest into merchandise for our Rescue Store. We operate this store to raise more money in an attempt to be self-sustaining-but we will always need you and your generosity to help these lovely dogs. These are the Ridgebacks who we hope will someday be the pride and joy of their new homes-all because of you.
