After a long battle with cancer, Indy is now in dog heaven.
Indy had a rough start in life, likely living in a cage and used in a back-yard breeding operation for her first year or two. Fortunately, her luck changed when the Ridgeback Rescue of the U.S. (RRUS) saved her. They gave her the medical attention she needed and a nice foster home to live in.
She found her furever home with us in September 2008. Over the years, she grew out of her shyness and fear and became a loveable member of our family. She had the chance to go on some fun vacations, to lounge in the sun, go on walks, and finally just be a dog.
We would like to thank RRUS for the work they did rescuing Indy. We would also like to thank RRUS members Jim and Claudia Wolfe for their role in getting us together. We are grateful to our family, friends and veterinary doctors and staff who loved and took care of Indy over the course of her life with us. Though we are terribly sad she is not with us any longer, we could not have been happier to have her in our lives for the years we had together.
Rest in peace our big brown dog.
