Ridgeback Rescue of the U.S. (RRUS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax-exempt charitable organization registered in the state of Missouri, but operating throughout the United States. The organization is governed by its Bylaws and Policies and Procedures.

RRUS is an organization of volunteer members working for the benefit of Rhodesian Ridgebacks in need of rescue. We have volunteers in several states, and all dogs in our rescue program live in foster homes.

RRUS takes dogs into foster care for a minimum of 2 weeks and then finds a suitable home for the foster dog from its pool of approved applicants.

Applicants go through a three-step screening and approval process that includes a phone interview with a RRUS volunteer, reference checks, and a home check.

Adoptions are a match of the right home at the right time for the right dog. Dog needs are the driving factor in all adoptions.
